Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Threshold (doorstep) عتبة

In a dream it is a man's wife.

(Whoever sees) that he pulled out the threshold of his house, his power [dawla] will depart. If he pulled out the doorsill of his house, he will divorce his wife; and if he sees it vanish from his sight, she will die. It is also said that the threshold is power and the doorsill is the wife.

(Whoever sees) that he is riding on the threshold of his house's door will marry a woman. It is also said the threshold is the caretaker of the house: whoever sees it removed from his door will be dismissed if he is a governor. If he sees it pulled out and vanish from his sight, the owner of the house will die; and if it is pulled out but does not vanish, he will fall ill and recover from his illness. Whoever builds a threshold will marry. Whatever happens to the threshold, attribute it to the woman.
