Seeing the Preserved Tablet [on which God has recorded all things] in a dream is a sign of the concealment of deeds. Seeing it signifies glad tidings for one in hardship and recovery for one who is ill, because it is free of all defects, keeps what God the Exalted has deposited in it, and is guarded under the eye of God, glorified and exalted is He. Seeing it signifies falling into what is feared for criminals, and for the people of obedience it is a sign of their guidance and of their discovering the commands and prohibitions that God the Exalted has deposited in it. Seeing it signifies provision for those in straitened means, because of the portions of provision and the fixed term of life that God the Exalted has decreed in it. Seeing it signifies the safekeeping of knowledge and wealth for those who own them, and it signifies everyone who is exacting and who keeps deposits, secrets, wealth and the like. It may signify safety from fear. If a king sees it, his kingdom will expand or a great treasure will be opened to him. The Tablets sent down to Moses, peace be upon him: seeing them in a dream signifies witnesses, or imams by whom people are guided, and they may signify admonitions. A wooden tablet on which one writes signifies a wife, a child, and land in which seed is sown; it may signify safety from fear, and it signifies knowledge for one who seeks it. All tablets are a sign of the prohibition of sins.
Whoever sees that he took a tablet from the imam will attain authority, jurisprudence and leadership, unless the imam admonishes him and urges him to good deeds, in which case it is admonition, guidance and mercy. A tablet of iron is a learned child of great strength whom no calamity will strike; if it is polished and burnished, he will be brave, will attain what he wishes for and will not be forsaken; if it is rusted, he will have no power. If the tablet is of stone, it is a hard-hearted child. If the tablet is of copper, it will be a hypocritical child. If it is of lead, it will be an effeminate child. The tablet signifies a woman, and the form of its writing signifies the children. It may signify a child who will be clever and sharp, accepting what he is taught and learning what he is instructed. The tablet is admonition. A tablet from the ruler is strength for one who takes it in his dream. For a pregnant woman, the tablet is a male child.
