In a dream it is good management for every craftsman and strength in wealth. The bridle may be a king's groom who does not disobey that king. Whoever rides a workhorse with a bridle will take up an office into which no one is admitted until he has made him swear a solemn oath. A bridle and breast-strap without ornaments signify the humility of the rider, and that his inner self is better than his outward appearance. The bridle is safety: whoever sees his mouth bridled will be safe and will not speak about what does not concern him; if he has a lawsuit, his argument has been refuted.
Whoever sees the bridle of his horse cut, the servant who leads and controls it will die. The bridle signifies chastity and protection [ʿisma] for whomever the horse signifies, and it may signify the alms-tax on wealth, which protects it.
Whoever sees that the bridle of his horse fell from its head or slipped from his hand, his affairs will come to nothing and his condition will be ruined, or his wife will become forbidden to him, or she will be with him without the bond of marriage.
Whoever sees that he is bridled refrains from sins, and it may signify fasting, for fasting is a bridle. A cut bridle is good for kings and there is no good in it for its owner.
