Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Sleep نوم

In a dream it is heedlessness.

(Whoever sees) that he is asleep or wanted to sleep, that indicates idleness, and it is bad for all people except one who is in fear or expects a hardship or torment to befall him, because sleep takes away all worries and griefs.

(Whoever sees) that he is sleeping in a cemetery, on the middle of a road or on top of a grave, that indicates death for the sick and idleness for the healthy. Sleep is a sign of benefits being suspended and of heedlessness of the righteous deeds God Most High has made obligatory on a person. Sleep may indicate a blessed journey for people of obedience and striving, and renouncing the world and taking no interest in its adornment. If he sees people asleep in the dream, it indicates general death or high prices; it may indicate closed-up affairs. If people are in any such trouble and he sees them asleep in the dream, it indicates that God Most High will lift that from them.

(Whoever sees) that he is sleeping on his back will gain a firm hold on the world. Sleep indicates the departure of worry. Sleeping on the face is not praiseworthy: for governors it indicates their dismissal, and for others scarcity and poverty. Sleep for an unmarried woman is marriage. It is said that sleep is the removal of sin, because the angels' pens are lifted from the sleeper. It is said sleep is an intoxication that covers the mind, and it is said it is illness.

(Whoever sees) that he is asleep while he was afraid will be safe. It is said sleep indicates heedlessness of one's interests. Sleeping on the back is dispersal, humiliation and death; it may indicate being free of work. Sleeping on the side is news, illness or death.

(Whoever sees) that he lay down beneath many trees, his offspring and children will be many. Sleeping on the belly is gaining land, wealth and children.
