Scissors (shears) مقص

Seeing them in a dream indicates gnawing at people's honor [taqrid al-a'rad, i.e. backbiting], because one of their names is miqrad. They may indicate the one in authority who separates truth from falsehood. Scissors indicate an increase in slaves and children: whoever sees shears in his hand, and he has a slave, will gain another; or a child, he will have another; likewise a brother, a sister or a riding animal: if he has one, he will gain another, unless he is unmarried, in which case he will marry.

(Whoever sees) that shears came down upon him from the sky, his life has run out, and so has his loan [qard]. Whoever cuts people's beards or clothes with shears is backbiting them and betraying them. It is said that scissors indicate two skilled partners. Whoever sees them in his hand will have a brother born to him from his mother. Whoever sees them in his hand while shearing hair or wool with them will amass much wealth. The shears are a man who divides shares; if they cut, he judges by knowledge.

(Whoever sees) shears in his hand will be compelled in a dispute to go to the judge. It is said that the shears are a man who reconciles people.
