Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Pulpit (minbar) منبر

In a dream it is the authority of the Arabs, the community of Islam, and the noble station that God Most High mentioned in His Book. Whoever sees that he is on a pulpit speaking words of righteousness will attain a noble, honorable authority if he is fit for the pulpit; if he is not, it is a good reputation. If a governor or ruler sees that he fell, or was brought down from the pulpit by force, or that his pulpit broke, it is the loss of the authority he holds, whether by death or in his lifetime. If the dreamer holds no authority, this applies to whoever holds authority among his people, or to someone who bears his name, or to his counterpart among people. If he sees a person on a pulpit who is not fit for it, and he neither preaches nor speaks, or his speech shows that he speaks of evil, he will be crucified unjustly, or God Most High will defend him; or it is a pulpit of governorship and the subduing of an enemy. The pulpit may be, for whoever climbs it, a wife whom he asks in marriage [play on khutba = sermon / khitba = marriage proposal]; otherwise he becomes notorious through a scandal. When a ruler climbs the pulpit, his reign endures and he subdues his enemies. Whoever preaches on a pulpit with his hands bound behind him, that is a sign of his crucifixion, or that he is a sinner.
