It is a well-known flying creature. Seeing it in a dream signifies ignorance and lack of experience in serving kings and managing them. Its sight may signify love and casting oneself into destruction. Seeing moths signifies fire-worshippers, or fear and anxiety, because of His saying, the Exalted:
يَوْمَ يَكُونُ ٱلنَّاسُ كَٱلْفَرَاشِ ٱلْمَبْثُوثِ
“It is the Day when people will be like moths, dispersed,”
Quran 101:4 · Saheeh International
The moth is a weak, contemptible enemy who talks big. For farmers, moths signify unemployment, hardship, being in league with wicked people, and consorting with bad women. Silkworm moths signify good people who have given of their good and withheld their evil, or children whose lives are short, or people with splendid inheritances. They may signify the nearness of death and the end of one's work. They also signify weavers, men and women, and those who imitate with pictures.
