Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Market inspector (muhtasib) محتسب

Seeing him in a dream indicates the well-being of the common people, because of his frequent dealings with them. If a person sees the market inspector in a good state or with a pleasant scent on him, it indicates his good conduct. If he sees him in a bad form, foul-smelling, or with both his eyes blinded, it indicates his bad management of what he oversees; and there may appear among cooks and fat-sellers things that disgust people, or the spread of wrongdoing, or cheating in measure and weight. The market inspector may indicate a well-bred son, a teacher and a judge. Whoever becomes a market inspector will be struck by an affliction for which he seeks his reward from God Most High [yahtasib], and God Most High will be sufficient for him [hasbuhu] in what he relies on Him for.
