Man رجل

In a dream, if he is known, he is that very man, or his namesake, his full brother, or his counterpart among people.

Whoever sees a known man in his dream hopes for something from him, or from his counterpart, namesake or look-alike. If he takes from him something whose substance is desirable, he will obtain what he hopes for. If he takes from him a new shirt and he is a man of authority, he will receive from him a covenant of office. If he takes from him a rope, it is a covenant, because the Arabs call a covenant a rope. If he takes something of an undesirable kind, such as a servant boy or a child, what he hopes for from him will turn into enmity. We have already given some of this under the letter Alif, under 'Human being'. Know that seeing the children of Adam in a dream signifies honor, and seeing each group has its own interpretation: seeing kings is victory, seeing judges is litigation, seeing governors is fears, seeing soldiers is journeys, seeing craftsmen signifies their crafts and provision, seeing women is temptation, and seeing righteous people is worship. Seeing the children of Adam may signify other creatures that God the Exalted has mentioned; the Exalted said:

وَمَا مِن دَآبَّةٍ فِى ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا طَـٰٓئِرٍ يَطِيرُ بِجَنَاحَيْهِ إِلَّآ أُمَمٌ أَمْثَالُكُم ۚ مَّا فَرَّطْنَا فِى ٱلْكِتَـٰبِ مِن شَىْءٍ ۚ ثُمَّ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يُحْشَرُونَ

“And there is no creature on [or within] the earth or bird that flies with its wings except [that they are] communities like you. We have not neglected in the Register a thing. Then unto their Lord they will be gathered.”

Quran 6:38 · Saheeh International

So seeing a righteous human may signify a good animal or bird, just as a good animal or a useful bird signifies a human in whom good predominates, because of the traits in the son of Adam that resemble birds, wild beasts and others. Seeing the children of Adam may signify a harvested crop; the Exalted said:

وَٱللَّهُ أَنۢبَتَكُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَرْضِ نَبَاتًا

“And Allāh has caused you to grow from the earth a [progressive] growth.”

Quran 71:17 · Saheeh International

Know that if the people of truth see in a dream the forms of the children of Adam and dwell on their outward shapes, it is a sign of a decrease in their standing with God the Exalted. Seeing the children of Adam signifies doubtful earnings, because of the variety of their earnings, or a wondrous building or a fine craft.
