In a dream it is something disliked and a loss of money. A bracelet of gold, if he wears it, is an inheritance that will fall into his hands.
(Whoever sees) that he wore something of gold will marry into a family not his equals. If he found a gold ingot, money will go away from him (dhahab, "gold," also means "went"), or worry will strike him in proportion to the gold he found, or the sultan will be angry with him and fine him. If he sees that he is melting gold, he will be taken to court over something disliked and will fall onto people's tongues (become the subject of gossip).
(Whoever sees) that he was given a large piece of gold will obtain authority and leadership. If he sees that he found broken gold or whole dinars, he will see the king's face and return from him safely. If he sees that he cast gold, he will meet evil and ruin. Whoever sees that his house is made of gold will suffer a fire.
(Whoever sees) that his hands are of gold, they will become paralyzed and motionless.
(Whoever sees) that his eyes are of gold, his sight will go blind.
(Whoever sees) that he is wearing a necklace of gold, silver, beads or jewels will be appointed to a governorship and entrusted with a trust. Seeing gold signifies joys, provisions, righteous deeds and the departure of worries; it signifies spouses, children, knowledge and guidance, and also what is made from it, such as garments or ornaments. If gold becomes silver in a dream, it signifies a change for the worse, from increase to decrease, in the state of what it signifies — women, wealth, children and servants — just as silver becoming gold in a dream signifies the improved state of what it signifies — spouses, family or clan. Things woven with gold, embroidered, and worn of fine clothing such as head-veils, shawls and what is crowned with them and the like, are acts that draw near to God, glorified is He, for the women, wives, children or slave girls who wear them, or an affliction for their owners. As for gold-plated things, they signify imitating the people of this world, or (outwardly imitating) the deeds of the people of the Hereafter. Pure gold and silver signify sincerity, purity of intention, firm agreement and a sound covenant. As for what is gilded with gold or silver leaf or (what is) dissolved, it signifies short-lived deeds, the ups and downs of affairs, inattention and forgetfulness. Spun gold and silver thread is continuous provision, and likewise drawn copper and iron wire.
