Fever حمى

In a dream it signifies the payment of a debt, because it expiates sins. It may signify threats and menace. If it signifies a debt, it may be sixty dirhams, because one day of fever is expiation for a year, and the year is three hundred and sixty days, as is [the number of] limbs and joints in a human being. It may signify splendid clothing if it is cold [fever] in summertime or hot in wintertime. Fever may signify anxiety over spouses, children or partners. Fever is the fulfillment of a promise, because it is every believer's share of the Fire. Whoever you see feverish in a dream is plunging into a matter that corrupts his religion. Fever is the messenger of the Angel of Death and a warner to him to set right what is between him and God the Exalted. If he sees that he has fever every day, he persists in sins. If he has fever every other day, it is a sin for which he has been punished and from which he has repented. If he has a quartan fever [every fourth day], he has been punished and repented several times and punishment has struck him. Shivering fever is negligence, and burning fever is hastening toward falsehood.

Whoever sees that he is feverish, on the brink of death, and has died or been shrouded, persists in a sin, or in major impurity, or in audacity toward God the Exalted; so this is a warning to him to repent, and only a sinful oppressor sees it.

Whoever sees that he is feverish will live long, his body will be healthy, his wealth will increase, and people will set their hopes on him and resort to him. Shivering fever signifies negligence in matters of religion. Fever [humma] may signify a bathhouse [hammam] which the dreamer enters, and where distress and thirst befall him.
