In a dream it is a cause of joy for one who is in grief, and repentance for one whose religion has become corrupt.
(If he sees) that he sought a man's help to buy embalming spices for him, he will seek that man's help as a good advocate to whom he turns in his distress. If he sought a man's help to buy embalming spices for a dead man, the one asking is speaking on behalf of a man whose religion has become corrupt: he will admonish him about corruption in his religion or worldly life, or ask him to give him something to relieve his poverty, or to save him from trials — because death is corruption of religion, or prison, or a great sin. Embalming spices remove the impurity and stench of the dead; ghaliya (a costly musk perfume) and camphor are good praise, and embalming the dead signifies that his reputation is fragrant and that he is commended. It may also signify doing good to someone who will neither repay it nor be grateful for it.
