Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Emancipation (freeing a slave) عتق

In a dream it signifies the sacrificial offering: whoever sees that he freed a slave will offer a sacrifice. Whoever frees his wife will divorce her. If a slave sees that he has been freed, it is feared that he or his master will die. If he sees that he died, he will be freed. Emancipation is departure from whatever one was freed from. If the one freed is sick, he will die, and if he is a slave, his usefulness may become unattainable. If the one freed is a sinner, he will repent; or if he is an unbeliever, he will embrace Islam, and God will forbid his body to the Fire. If a free man sees that he has been freed and he is in debt, God will settle his debt; or if he is a sinner, his sin will be expiated.
