In everything in a dream it is leadership (sudud) and wealth. Wearing black is (good) for one accustomed to wearing it, and for one not accustomed to it, worry and sorrow. Ibn Sirin (God have mercy on him) used to interpret all blackness as wealth.
(Whoever sees) in his dream that he married a short black woman, her blackness is the abundance of her wealth, and her shortness is the shortness of her life.
Blackness, if it is pure and glossy without any white, is honor and elevation from a sultan. It is also said that black (aswad) is not a praiseworthy thing to see, because its word contains a mention of evil (su'). Blackness in the body is leadership. The dreamer may fall into a great sin, or have a claim made against him, or be disobedient to one of his parents. He may be afflicted with cracked hands and feet. It may signify his excessive delight. If his face blackened but not his body, it signifies lying and apostasy from religion. If the black turned white in the dream, it signifies good praise, giving up sins and faith after unbelief. If his hands turned white but not his body, it signifies the appearance of miracles for righteous people, victory over enemies, nearness to great men, correspondence on behalf of kings and high standing. Blackness may signify an excess of black bile in a white body, and whiteness may signify leprosy (vitiligo) in a black body.
