In a dream he is a man of righteousness and piety, because [giving water] is among the most rewarding of deeds, and much good will be done at his hands if he gives water without taking payment. If he fills a vessel and carries it to his house, that is wealth he acquires. Seeing the water carrier signifies one who heals breasts through his work, or hearts through his wisdom; it signifies provision and closeness to kings. The water carrier who carries on his back may signify benefit from staying [at home], and the water carrier who uses animals signifies benefit from journeys. Seeing him signifies one who goes between people for good. He may signify one who [keeps things] turning [like a waterwheel] in his time. He may signify a broker who brings things to their owners. Seeing him [also] signifies evil and quarrels, dancing and going round in circles. If the water carrier carries water in a man's vessel and takes a price for it, he bears a sin, and the one to whom it is carried will receive gathered wealth from a man of the ruler's circle, because the river is the ruler and water in a vessel is gathered wealth. The one who gives water to drink in cups and jugs is a man of good deeds and religion, like a scholar or a preacher. As for those who carry water in waterskins and jars, they are those who are trusted with wealth and deposits.
