Scalder (one who singes off wool and feathers) سماط

He is the one who removes wool, hair and feathers [from carcasses] in the scalding place over the fire. Seeing him signifies a tithe collector and a seller of combs. The scalder may be a tax collector, because he strips people of their wealth. The scalder is also a man who unjustly devours the wealth of orphans. It is also said that he is one who relieves distress.
