Valley وادي

A valley in a dream signifies an exhausting journey, or a difficult, hard-to-handle person, or a long time spent by a traveler. Seeing it may also signify righteous deeds and drawing near to God by spending from what is good. A valley may also signify its inhabitants or what is planted in it. If the valley has trees, flowers, a pleasant scent or good water in it, or if one hears fine speech in it, he will attain loftiness and standing; if he is fit for kingship, he will rule and triumph over his enemies, and he may draw near to kings and gain high rank with them; and if he is a righteous person, many marvels (karamat) will appear from him, as God Almighty says:

فَلَمَّآ أَتَىٰهَا نُودِىَ مِن شَـٰطِئِ ٱلْوَادِ ٱلْأَيْمَنِ فِى ٱلْبُقْعَةِ ٱلْمُبَـٰرَكَةِ مِنَ ٱلشَّجَرَةِ أَن يَـٰمُوسَىٰٓ إِنِّىٓ أَنَا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَـٰلَمِينَ

“But when he came to it, he was called from the right side of the valley in a blessed spot - from the tree, "O Moses, indeed I am Allāh, Lord of the worlds."”

Quran 28:30 · Saheeh International

(to the end of) the verse. It may also signify the falling of rain and the flowing of waters. Settling in a valley may signify carrying a message to tyrants, as God Almighty says:

هَلْ أَتَىٰكَ حَدِيثُ مُوسَىٰٓ ۝ إِذْ نَادَىٰهُ رَبُّهُۥ بِٱلْوَادِ ٱلْمُقَدَّسِ طُوًى ۝ ٱذْهَبْ إِلَىٰ فِرْعَوْنَ إِنَّهُۥ طَغَىٰ

“Has there reached you the story of Moses? - When his Lord called to him in the sacred valley of Ṭuwā, "Go to Pharaoh. Indeed, he has transgressed.”

Quran 79:15–17 · Saheeh International

A valley may also signify prison, because mountains enclose it and going into and out of it is hard.

(Whoever sees) that he is swimming in a level valley until he reaches a place he wants, he will enter the service of the ruler and his need will be fulfilled; if he fears the valley, he fears a ruler. A valley also signifies a warrior who blocks the road (a highway robber), and the lion.

(Whoever sees) a valley standing between him and the road: if he is a traveler, a thief or a lion will cut off his way, or rain, a ruler or a scheming person will prevent his journey; if he is not traveling, he will be struck by distress and affliction through prison, beating or fear, or else by an illness he falls into from cold or dropsy — especially if its water is muddy or it is winter. If he crosses it, he will be saved from all of that. Whoever digs a valley, one of his family will die. A valley signifies the fulfillment of a need for one who sees that he came out of it.

(Whoever sees) that he fell into a valley and felt no pain will gain a benefit from a ruler or guidance from a chief.

(Whoever sees) that he lives in a valley without crops will perform the pilgrimage (Hajj).

(Whoever sees) that he is wandering aimlessly in a valley will compose poetry.
