Mud (mire) وحل

In a dream, for whoever walks in it, it is a worry he enters, and he will meet with trial and hardship.

(Whoever sees) that he is walking in clay, it is worry and fear for the people of that place, and likewise for whoever sees that he entered it.

(Whoever sees) that he is walking in rain, [he will receive] in proportion to what struck him of it, if it is strong and overwhelming. And it is said:

(Whoever sees) that he is walking in mud, it is a deficiency in his body. If a sick person sees mud, his illness will continue, unless he sees that he came out of it, which is his coming out of illness and his recovery. If one who is not sick walks in it or it comes upon him, he will enter into an affliction, or prison, or the hands of a ruler. If he gets free of it, or his garment and body remain clean of it in that situation, he will be safe from the sin in religion and the ruin in worldly life that befell him; otherwise it will reach him in proportion to what struck him. Kneading clay and molding it into bricks has no good in it, because it indicates grief, affliction and dispute, until its bricks dry and turn to earth, then it becomes money he obtains after toil, worry, dispute and affliction. Mud is dispute and trouble. It may indicate debt, or speech attacking someone's honor. It may indicate a woman's pregnancy with a male child, because of His saying, the Exalted:

وَلَقَدْ خَلَقْنَا ٱلْإِنسَـٰنَ مِن سُلَـٰلَةٍ مِّن طِينٍ

“And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay.”

Mud indicates the suspension of activities and the interruption of prayers. Wahl [mud], if you derive it, is hawl [a year], for time past or to come. Mud may be a slate for the reciter. Mud may indicate boasting of blessings, or polytheism, or unbelief in God.

(Whoever sees) that his head and beard are smeared with clay is a man who works at farming and plastering clay. If the mud became clay, he will be granted good praise, and that will be the reason for his striving in obedience to God Most High. If it became flour or dough, he will be granted lawful, good provision from his striving. If the color of his black clay changes to red, it indicates his moving from one land to another, or from one character to another; or else that he prefers a fair woman to a dark one; and if red changes to black, he inclines to the dark woman rather than the fair. Mud may indicate a woman of bad character, hard to deal with, who seldom conceives from the water [of the man]. If the land is barren and drought-stricken and he sees mud in a dream, it is good tidings of abundant pasture. If the mud is from a well, it indicates inheritance, the appearance of blessing, or deposits and secrets for whoever the well signifies.
