Whoever recites it in a dream, or any part of it, or has it recited to him, — it indicates that a matter of his will go smoothly, then you [sic] will triumph over his enemies. It is also said that the sorcery of sorcerers, the plotting of Satan and evil whisperings will be warded off from him. It is also said that he will be afflicted with obsessive whisperings. It is also said that reciting it indicates the reunion of family. It is also said that people will be safe from him, that is, from [his] malice.
Whoever intends to expand the interpretation, let him consider the surah and judge by the verses in it that suit the rulings, giving each person what suits him. Whatever [part] of the Quran has been tried and tested for attracting [good], for benefit, or for warding off harm, seeing it in a dream, under its conditions, is a sign of an event for which it will be needed, whether good or bad. And look at the surah and what it is known for: thus al-Ma'ida (The Table Spread) is good tidings; al-Tawba (Repentance) is returning to God the Exalted; Maryam (Mary) is a wife or a child; al-Talaq (Divorce) is divorce or death, and likewise al-Nazi'at; and 'Abasa (He Frowned) is misery. This and the like applies when the surah is named to the dreamer in the dream or is given to him as a gift.
