Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Solomon (the Prophet Sulayman) سليمان

Peace be upon him. Seeing him in a dream signifies kingship for one suited to it, or judgeship and the authority to rule, or jurisprudence and issuing legal opinions for one who is qualified for that — especially if he crowns him with his crown, puts his ring on him, or seats him on his throne. Perhaps difficulties will become easy for him, and he will attain from God the Exalted a great and lofty rank in this world along with a good outcome in the Hereafter. Seeing him may signify an ordeal on account of women and misery coming from them. If the dreamer is a governor, he will be removed from his post and then return to it. Perhaps he will marry, through some stratagem, a woman of wealth and nobility. If the dreamer earns his living from birds, from summoning jinn, or from making glass vessels, he will gain lasting provision from that. Perhaps a precious possession of his will be lost and he will find it after having given up hope of it. Perhaps the dreamer is one for whom the wind has died down while he is traveling by sea, or one who needs the wind without traveling, such as those who winnow grain and the like — then what he seeks will come to him.

Whoever sees Solomon, peace be upon him, God the Exalted's blessings upon him will become manifest; perhaps he will be granted deep, long-lasting knowledge; and seeing him may signify knowledge of languages, like an interpreter, or of the Arabic language. Seeing him may signify the recovery of a sick person, because his name [Sulayman] is from salim ["sound, safe"], just as the name [Aman] comes from aman ["safety"], and as Ibrahim [suggests] ibra' ["cure"] — in contrast to seeing Noah, peace be upon him, for seeing him in a dream indicates the death of a sick person, because [his name, Nuh] comes from naha, yanuhu ["to wail"]. Whoever possesses his staff (minsa'a), peace be upon him, in a dream will be a slanderous gossip, and if he is sick he will die. Seeing his ring, peace be upon him, means a renewal of authority for the one who possesses it, or the appearance of a banner [or sign] that amazes people; we have mentioned it earlier under the letter Kha' under "Ring". If a woman sees Solomon, peace be upon him, she will plot against her husband. Whoever sees him, peace be upon him, in his dream will be granted knowledge of medicine. If he sees him dead on a pulpit or a throne, a caliph, emir or chief will die and the time of his death will not be known until some time afterwards. Whoever sees him, peace be upon him, will travel often and will attain an authority in which enemy and friend alike obey him, if he is worthy of that. Whoever sees him, peace be upon him, will earn wealth, attain a great dominion, and make a distant journey from which he returns quickly, and will attain good and safety.
