In a dream, [a stone] in the ground or in a wall signifies a dead person. It may signify people of hardness, heedlessness, ignorance and idleness; the sages liken the ignorant man to a stone.
Whoever sees that he owns a stone, bought it, or stood on it will gain the upper hand over a man of its kind, or marry a woman of its character.
Whoever sees that he became a stone has disobeyed his Lord, his heart has hardened and his religion has become corrupt. If he is sick he will die; otherwise he will be struck by a paralysis that stops his movement. A stone falling from the sky to the earth upon all the world or upon the mosques is a hard-hearted man, or a tithe-collector whom the ruler hurls upon the people of that place. If the stone breaks and its fragments fly into houses and homes, that signifies calamities spreading in that town, so that everyone whose house a fragment entered will suffer a calamity. If the people are in drought, fearing its continuation and dreading its outcome, the stone is a hardship that will descend on the place in proportion to the size of the stone, its hardness and its condition. If the stones are many and pelt the people, it is a punishment descending from the sky upon the place: either an epidemic, locusts, hail, wind, a fine, a raid, plunder, or the like.
Whoever sees that he is moving stones or mountains is attempting a difficult matter.
Whoever sees that he is riding a stone, if he is unmarried, will marry.
Whoever sees that he hung a stone around his neck will be struck by grief and evil.
Whoever sees that he struck a stone with a staff and water gushed from it, if he is poor he will become rich, and if he is rich he will increase in wealth; it may be pleasant provision. Stones may signify worshippers, ascetics and people of humble hearts.
If a king sees that he has a stone, it signifies the abundance of his wealth from precious stones.
If a worshipper sees that he has a stone, his miraculous grace will become manifest in a town and rain will be prayed for through him. If he strikes a stone in a dream, he will fall under an accusation of which he is innocent, especially if the stone flees and he follows it. The stone [hajar] is interdiction [hajr] placed on a person by one who prevents him from managing his affairs. A stone may signify the burrows of vermin. Millstones signify scholars, children, spouses and wealth; whoever owns any of them, it signifies [strength over] enemies with wealth and weapons. Whoever owns a stone like millstones, press-stones, water-stones and the like will gain benefit from a person of high standing, such as a father, a master, a teacher, a brother, a husband, a relative, a friend, or an estate; it may be a man who travels much. Whoever carries a stone and finds misery from it will suffer from a hard-hearted person in proportion to its lightness or heaviness. Beneficial stones, such as the green stone that is beneficial for pain of the eye and ear and the like, signify physicians and scholars, people of standing, comfort and livelihood, benefits and useful crafts.
