Smoke in a dream signifies terror and torment from God Most High, and punishment from the ruler. Whoever sees smoke coming out of his shop or his house will come into good and abundance after a terror, a scandal and a fever connected with his livelihood, and that will come from the ruler. If it is the smoke of a fire under a pot in which meat is cooking, it is good, abundance and joy after a terror that befalls him. If it is from aloeswood or something without a foul smell, it is a terror followed by disgrace and scandal.

Whoever sees that smoke has overshadowed him will catch a fever. Whoever is struck by the heat of smoke, in winter or summer, it is worry and grief. Seeing smoke is a great terror and fierce fighting: if it is blazing, it is a sweeping slaughter that strikes the people; if it is not blazing, it is a gathering without war, and strife without fighting. Smoke in a dream, when it harms people and covers their eyes, is a sign of worries, troubles and injustice, or of torment from God Most High through mass death or drought. Smoke may also signify news coming from the direction in which it appeared.
