Sinew (nerve) عصب

In a dream it is what holds a person's affairs together. Whoever feels pain in his sinews will be struck by worry and sorrow. If his sinew is cut, his affairs will be scattered, and if he is sick, his life will come to an end. The sinew is the chief of what keeps a person upright, and it signifies scrupulous piety, the calling of witnesses in sales, contracts and covenants, the means of livelihood, and the agnatic kin [al-'asaba, wordplay on 'asab = sinew] among the household. Whatever befalls any of these, whether decrease or increase, its interpretation returns to what it signifies.
