Seeing him in a dream signifies purity, humility, repentance from sins, weeping, high standing, long life, and connection with the commanders of the believers. The preacher [khatib] signifies commanding good and forbidding evil. He signifies joys and gathering at a festival season. If an unmarried woman sees him, she will marry a suitor [khatib], likewise. Likewise, if an unmarried man sees him, it signifies his seeking a marriage proposal for himself. If he sees that he became a preacher, and he is one fit for positions, he will take up a position fitting to him according to his standing. If he fulfills the conditions of preaching in the dream, he will be helped in what he takes charge of. If he wears white instead of black, his standing will rise and his provision will flow. If he wears black and does not preach, or is sitting in the dream, he will gain mastery over his peers, or a calamity will befall him by which he will be disgraced.
Whoever sees that he is preaching at the season of the pilgrimage while he is not fit to preach, nor is anyone in his family fit for it, it goes back to his namesake or his equal among people, or he will suffer some afflictions, or his reputation for righteousness will spread.
Whoever sees that he did the sermon and the prayer well and completed them with the people, and they were listening to his sermon, will become an obeyed governor; if he does not complete it, his rule will not be completed and he will be removed.
Whoever who is not a Muslim sees that he is preaching will embrace Islam or die soon. If a woman sees that she is preaching and mentioning admonitions, she will attain strength; if her words in the sermon are other than wisdom and admonition, she will be disgraced and become notorious for what is not acceptable in the conduct of women. If a governor sees that his sermon was cut off and he did not complete it, his authority will cease because of that. If a woman sees that she is preaching, she will marry a righteous man.
