Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Pearl (durra) درة

[Durra, with u.] In a dream it is a male child for a pregnant woman. Whoever sees his wife hand him a pearl will be granted by her a handsome male child. If the pearl has no luster, it is a girl. If he takes a pearl from his wife and hides it in a chest or covers it with a cloth, it is also a girl. The pearl is good for a woman: if she is not married, it signifies her marriage; if she has no children, it signifies that she will have children; if she has a husband and has given birth, it signifies riches and wealth. Whoever in a dream buys or barters jewels for glass, or pearls for shells, it signifies his choosing this world over the Hereafter, or disobedience over obedience, or he will apostatize from his religion; and the reverse [for the reverse]. Pearls signify the Quran, knowledge, fine speech, male servants, slave-women, children and wealth. Whoever sees that he is piercing pearls will interpret the Quran correctly.
