In a dream it signifies what is said about him, whether thanks or blame, coming forward or turning back, honour or humiliation, or debt. The nape may also signify following in someone's footsteps [qafa "nape" and taqaffi "tracking"]. If something appears on the nape that signifies good, such as thickness, whiteness, a pleasant smell, a gleaming light, or that it has become iron, that is a sign that he will be thanked for what he is engaged in, such as his advancing and withdrawing when meeting enemies, or that he does not turn the back of his neck to them. If it is well filled out, his standing will be great or his debt will be paid. If he sees his nape bent down, or with sores or cuts in it, that signifies his humiliation and failure, and a debt he incurs. The nape may also signify that someone follows his tracks and pries into his faults.
(Whoever sees) that his nape has become thick will be strong enough to bear what God the Exalted has settled upon him.
(Whoever sees) that his nape is a forehead will flee. If he sees a person strike him on the hollow of his nape, he will manage his chief. If he sees hair on his nape, he owes money and has that money with him; if there is no hair on it, he is bankrupt. If he shaves the hair of his nape, he will return what was entrusted to him and pay his debt.
