Seeing lightning alone in a dream signifies guidance after going astray. It may also signify the dazzling and scattering of one's sight. If the dreamer is sick, death is feared for him. Seeing lightning in a dream may signify the uncovering of secrets and catching wind of news. Seeing it may also signify glad tidings of the return of someone absent, a renewal of splendor, or relief for someone in distress. Seeing lightning may also signify changing conditions, from hardship to deliverance and from deliverance to hardship. Seeing it may also signify the gleam of swords and the points of spears.

Whoever sees lightning, if the dream was in October (Tishrin I), it signifies alarming rumors and the yield of grain. If in November (Tishrin II), it signifies fertility, dew and much good. In December (Kanun I), a shortfall in the harvest may be feared. In January (Kanun II), it is feared for the crops at their end. In February (Shubat), it may signify that the crops will be sound. In March (Adhar), it signifies a shortfall in the whole harvest. In April (Nisan), it is good and fortunate: the harvests will be fine in it, though barley will be short. In May (Ayyar), it is bad for some fruits. In June (Haziran), it is a sign of beneficial dew. In July (Tammuz), it is neither good nor bad. In September (Aylul) it is a sign of fertility and good, and likewise in August (Ab). Seeing lightning in a dream signifies fear of the ruler or being beaten with whips. It may also signify good promises from the ruler, laughter, joy, good fortune, hopes among the subjects, and their expectation of what comes with it: thunderbolts, torment, mercy and rain.

Whoever sees lightning that he alone found, apart from the people, and sees its flashes striking him or snatching away his sight: if he is a traveler, he will meet harshness from rain or from an order of the ruler; if he is a farmer whose crops are parched, rain and mercy will reach him; if his father, his master or his ruler has power over him and pays him no attention, he will turn to him and smile at him. If there is rain with it, it signifies something ugly that will appear to him.

Whoever sees that he took hold of some lightning, or that it struck him, someone will respond to him with kindness and good.

Whoever sees lightning with no rain with it and has been promised something will not obtain it. Lightning signifies fear of the ruler and his threats and warnings, the drawing of blades and the striking of whips. Everything lightning signifies is quick and immediate, because of how fast it goes and how briefly it lasts. It is also said that lightning signifies a benefit from a faraway place.

Whoever sees that lightning burned his clothes, his wife will die if she is sick.
