Belly (abdomen) بطن

It indicates prison, the grave, a secret, health and illness, a friend and a trustee, and one's religion and worship. Whoever's belly is torn open in a dream: if he has property, its benefit will be cut off from him; otherwise a disaster will befall the wealth with which he provides cover for his family; his secret may be exposed, or he may lose his wife. If it is a pregnant woman, her pregnancy will come out. If any of his intestines or organs appear, his prisoner will come out; otherwise his dead will be uncovered, or a well will be drained, [or] the illnesses in his abdomen [will leave him]; and if he complains of that, what he complains of will go away. If he loses his belly, his friend, his guardian or the one in charge of his wealth will die; or he may become ascetic and devout and give up food and drink. If fire comes out of his belly, it indicates his repentance from consuming the wealth of orphans; and if he is one who eats from forbidden vessels [of gold and silver], it indicates his renouncing them. If he walks on his belly in the dream, it indicates his poverty and need and his striving among people to fill his belly. The belly is the bed of a valley. In interpretation, the belly may indicate what the thigh indicates, namely the clan and the tribe [batn, "belly," also means a sub-clan]. It may indicate gluttony. Entering into a belly is a journey or prison, or returning to what one had left. If his belly is handsome, or grows large in a way not disproportionate to his body, it indicates knowledge and leadership. The belly may indicate intimacy in religion [or: inner secrets], intimacy, rancor and hypocrisy. The belly, outward and inward, is wealth and children: whoever sees his belly smaller than it is, his wealth, children or household will decrease to that extent.

Whoever sees that it has grown larger and increased, his wealth, children or household will increase to that extent.

Whoever sees that his belly is empty without his body being diminished, it is a decrease in his wealth or children; it is also said that he will be empty-bellied of what is unlawful. The belly may be a man's ship, so whatever event he sees in it is an event in his ship.

Whoever sees that he is in his mother's womb [belly]: if he is in another country, he will return to his home and birthplace; if he is sick, he will be buried in the earth; and if he is healthy, he will fall into prison. The belly indicates a person's house and his animals: his liver is his child, his heart is his child, his lungs are his servant or daughter, his stomach is his purse, and his throat is his life and greatness.

Whoever sees that his house or residence was demolished while he is ill in the belly will die. If he sees that he set about building it or repairing it, he will recover from his illness if he completes the building; otherwise, there remains of the days of his life in proportion to what remains of the building. If a person's belly is his ship, then his head is its heart [i.e. its prow], his throat is its mast, and his ribs are its walls. Whoever sees his belly gashed and torn, his intestines spilling out and his ribs scattered, his ship will be wrecked; and for one who has no ship it indicates his shop from which his living expenses come. If the belly becomes huge, it is consuming usury. Walking on the belly is relying on wealth.
