Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Hen (chicken) دجاجة

In a dream it is a foolish, silly woman who is beautiful. It is also said that it is a concubine or a servant. Whoever catches one will obtain easy, lawful wealth. Whoever eats its meat will be provided with wealth from non-Arab captives.

(Whoever sees) the hen or the peahen cooing in his home is a man of afflictions and debauchery. It is also said that the hen and its feathers are beneficial wealth.

The hen may be a woman who raises orphans and works for them to obtain charity, and who rummages through rubbish heaps, and she is beneficial. Chickens are humble, lowly women. The hen may indicate a woman with children. Its coming in to a sick person is recovery, and likewise the young chicken. A hen crowing is evil and misery, or death. Its coming in to a healthy person may be a warning of an illness for which it (chicken broth) will be needed. Its coming in, or owning it, may indicate the departure of worries and miseries, joys, and displaying comfort and blessings. The young chicken (farruj) is a child, or garments that bring joy, or relief (faraj) for one in hardship.

(Whoever sees) chickens in his house, so many that they cannot be counted, it is leadership and wealth; his fear will leave him and his fortune will turn toward him.
