In a dream it is a person's leadership, his chief who has authority over him, and his capital (literally 'head of wealth').
(Whoever sees) that his head is larger than it was, that is his father. A large head indicates an increase in honor, and a small head a decrease in honor.
(Whoever sees) that he has two or three heads will gain victory over his enemies if he is a combatant; if he is poor he will become rich; if he is rich he will have dutiful, praiseworthy children; and if he is unmarried he will marry and obtain what he wants.
(Whoever sees) that his head is uncovered will disobey and leave obedience (to his superior).
(Whoever sees) that he is hanging upside down will live a long life full of reproach and hardship, after the story of Harut and Marut. If he sees that his head is bowed down and bent, he acknowledges his sin and is turning toward righteousness, and this dream announces a long life. If he sees his head bowed in a gathering or before the ruler, he has committed a sin which he regrets and wants to repent of; and if he is a merchant, he will do well with his wealth.
(Whoever sees) his head turned upside down: for one who intends to travel, it indicates an obstacle preventing his departure, and that he will not see what he wishes for soon but only later; for one who is a traveler in a foreign land, it indicates his return to his country after a delay and when he no longer expected it.
(Whoever sees) that his head has grown large will become chief among his people.
(Whoever sees) that his head has become small: if he is intelligent he will become ignorant; if he is learned he will become foolish; and if he is a chief he will be removed from his leadership.
(Whoever sees) that his head was cut off without being struck: if he is a slave he will be freed; otherwise he will part with his master and take charge of his own affairs. The head indicates capital, and severed heads indicate wealth. Whoever sees a human head in his hand will obtain something worth a thousand dinars, or a thousand dirhams, or a hundred, according to the dreamer's standing. Whoever's head turns into a lion's head will attain kingship; if it turns into the head of a dog, a donkey or a horse, he will meet with toil.
(Whoever sees) his head crushed with stones sleeps through the night ('Isha') prayer.
(Whoever sees) that his head is a bird's head will travel a great deal. When a person sees an ulcer or pain in the head and neck, that indicates illness among all people equally.
(Whoever sees) his head like that of some livestock animal will be reduced to drudgery, toil and servitude.
(Whoever sees) that his head has changed into the head of an elephant, a lion, a leopard or a wolf will undertake matters loftier than his station, will benefit from them, and will attain leadership and victory over his enemies. If he sees his head perfumed and oiled, his dream indicates his good fortune. If he sees severed heads in his hand, his dream indicates people submitting to him. If he sees that he ate a human head raw, he will backbite a chief and obtain wealth from one of the chiefs. If he sees that he ate it cooked, it is that man's capital if he is known; otherwise it is his own wealth that he is consuming. If he sees that he took his own head in his hand, it is wealth that comes to him, at most a full blood-money and at least a thousand dirhams; and this dream indicates a reconciliation between him and a man who owes him a debt.
(Whoever sees) that his head separated from him without being struck and he carried it away from that place, his leadership will go. If he sees that his head was cut off and he took it and put it back and it became whole as it was, he will be killed in jihad.
(Whoever sees) that his head separated from him: if he secures it, he will obtain wealth equal to his blood-money, and he will be cured if he is sick. A head on a spear or a pole is high standing.
(Whoever sees) one of people's heads in a container with blood on it, it is a chief about whom lies are being told there, concerning the matter he saw in the bag; it may be false news reaching him, because blood in this context is a lie. The head is the noblest part of the body, so it indicates leadership and the chief of everything, such as a child, a teacher, a tutor and a king. The head indicates a pot with handles (literally 'ears'), the 'head' of a watermelon, or a 'head' of flour (a sack). It may indicate the king's citadel and his treasuries; it may indicate whatever covers it, such as a turban, a cap or a roof; it may indicate the crown for a king, the helmet for a warrior, the ship, and the sky with its two great lights. It indicates the scale, the measure and whatever things are measured by, because it is the seat of the mind, which sorts things out and distinguishes them: by it one takes and by it one gives. The head may indicate the bathhouse and the oven and every place where vapor gathers in the heat for a useful purpose. The head may indicate a tent standing on its poles and ropes, by way of comparison to its rising and covering. The head of a scholar may indicate his knowledge, and of a craftsman his craft; it indicates a good reputation, and death and life. Whoever's head becomes beautiful, or grows larger than its normal size without being grotesque to look at, it indicates honor, elevation and provision. A large head may indicate abundant knowledge, wisdom or intelligence. If his head becomes small, it indicates loss of position, little wealth and falling into ignorance. If in the dream he comes to have many heads, he will be granted offspring, useful knowledge, estates, properties, children, followers or wealth; otherwise his dependents will multiply, his back will be burdened, and his profit will be small. Whoever loses his head has lost what the head signified for him, or he is someone who walks about unaware because of his many worries and troubles. If he cuts off his head with his own hand, he kills himself through his poor management, or he does not complete his ablution, or does not perfect his prostration, or he cuts off someone dear to him, or betrays his father or his master or whoever the head signified. Whatever good or evil befalls the head, or appears on the face, hand, elbow, legs or ankles by way of increase or decrease, relates to his purification and the completeness of his ablution or its thoroughness.
(Whoever sees) that his head has left him, the capital from which he lives and on which he depends will leave him. Perhaps he will shave his head, or part with his cap or turban in the heat, or his upper room will be demolished, or the roof of his house will be replaced; and if he is a slave, his master will sell him.
(Whoever sees) that his head is in his hand and he is looking at it, that is the dreamer managing his capital.
(Whoever sees) that he went off with his head, it is an illness that befalls him.
(Whoever sees) that his neck was struck and his head separated from him: if he is a slave he will be freed; if he is worried God will relieve his worry; if he is in debt he will pay off his debt; and he may obtain great wealth. If he knows the one who struck him, he will receive much good from him and through his hands.
(Whoever sees) that he speaks to his head will obtain good.
(Whoever sees) people's heads cut off in a town, a neighborhood, at a door or in a house, these are the chiefs of the people who will come to that place and gather in it. If he sees that he eats them, or eats from them, or feeds them to others, or obtains hair, bones or something else from them, he will obtain wealth from the great men and chiefs of the people. If they are the heads of livestock, beasts of prey or the like, they are lower than human heads in honor and wealth, but they are wealth in any case.
(Whoever sees) that a king or a governor (wali) is striking his neck, then the Wali (Protector) is God Almighty, who will save him from his worries and help him in his affairs. If a king sees that he is striking the necks of his subjects, he will pardon the wrongdoers and free their necks. Striking the neck indicates freedom for slaves. It is also said: whoever sees that his neck is being struck, whether by a judge's sentence, for highway robbery, in war or otherwise, that is blameworthy for one whose parents are still living and who has a child, because the head resembles the parents, as they are the cause of life, and also resembles the child because of the form. If a person who is afraid, or one sentenced to death, sees this, it is praiseworthy, because calamities strike a person once, though they may possibly strike him a second time. As for money-changers and people of wealth, it indicates the loss of their wealth; for travelers it indicates their return; and for litigants it indicates winning. If he sees his head in his hand, that is good for one who has children and has been unable to set out on a journey. If he sees his head in his hands while he has another, natural head, it indicates that he will resist some of the afflictions surrounding him and set right some of the bad matters in his management. If a ruler sees greatness in his head, it is an increase and strength in his rule. If he sees that his head is a ram's head, he will be just and fair; if he sees that his head is a dog's head, he will be tyrannical and treat his subjects foolishly. If a person's head turns into a donkey's head in a dream, he raises his head in prayer before the imam, because of what is reported in the Prophetic hadith; or he will become ignorant and foolish; or he will be fed a donkey's brain and his brain will be corrupted. As for the heads of sheep, cattle and other edible animals: if he sees that he bought some of those that are pressed into the clay oven and they were fat, he will gain a chief or master from whom he benefits; if it was lean, it is a master with no benefit; if it was putrid, it is a master who praises him in an ugly way. If he sees that he eats the head of a sheep, a cow, a bull or a camel raw, he backbites a chief associated with that kind; if it was cooked or roasted, he will gain wealth from chiefs, or he will consume the capital of someone associated with that kind. A sheep's head is capital of at most ten thousand dirhams and at least a thousand dirhams. Eating the brain is buried wealth, and eating the eyes is the choicest of the chiefs' wealth.
(Whoever sees) that he eats the head and trotters of sheep will obtain honor and wealth, most likely from an inheritance.
