If in the dream the hedge moves inward and the fruit-bearing trees take its place, it signifies corruption of religion and loss of worldly life, treachery within the army, the breaking of repentance, the ignorant being put forward and the learned held back, apostasy from religion or abandoning one's school of thought, or the common people rising and the elite falling. If the place of the hedge-trees has become an impregnable wall, a strong rampart, or a moat, that is stronger, better protected and of higher standing for its owner. The hedge signifies religion, and the rest of the trees signify the duties of religion. The hedge may signify the king's fortress, and the other trees the men of his state. If the garden signifies its owner, then the hedge is his family, his relatives and his trade. If the garden signifies the world, then the hedge is its people, among whom are the high and the low, the generous and the miserly. The hedge may also signify the owner's religion and his deeds, and what protects him from punishment in this world and the Hereafter.
