Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Drunkenness (intoxication) سكر القطر

In a dream it signifies worry and sorrow. Drunkenness is the wealth of time [i.e. worldly prosperity] together with insolence. If the drunkenness is from nabidh [date or grape wine], it is authority in any case. If he becomes drunk and tears his clothes off himself, he is a man who, when his worldly lot becomes ample, grows insolent, cannot bear blessings and cannot control himself. Whoever sees someone drinking wine and becoming drunk from it will obtain unlawful money, and will obtain from that king authority in proportion to the degree of drunkenness. Drunkenness is authority and wealth when it comes from a drink; drunkenness without drinking is intense fear in proportion to the degree of drunkenness. Drunkenness is a bad sign for men and women, because it signifies great ignorance and things becoming entangled; but drunkenness is a sign of good for one who is afraid. Feigning drunkenness without being drunk signifies claiming what one does not have and what one is not capable of; and a calamity may befall him that worries him until he comes out of it as though drunk. If he is among the righteous, the intoxication of the love of God the Exalted will overcome him.
