Drums طبول

The tanbur [long-necked lute] is a chief who is a man of falsehoods, and it is grief and sorrow by which the bowels are ruined and twisted, because its sound comes from bowels that have dried and been made into strings. Playing the tanbur may be a man's preaching and his rebuking of people. The tanbur is a seller of minted dirhams. Playing the tanbur is a calamity and sorrow, and plucking it is recalling the ease, honour and pampering one has seen. If a sultan sees that he is listening to the tanbur, he will listen to the words of a man of falsehoods.
