In a dream it is a man's standing and his honor, if it is new, thick and white. If it is thin, it is thinness [weakness] in its owner's religion, because the cloak is a man's religion and his trusts. If he is wearing it in winter, he is someone who makes a show of himself out of vanity while he is poor. It is also said that the cloak is a lowly woman; if a man sees it, it is a matter he has devoted himself to that has little benefit. If he sees that a worn-out cloak or shawl [taylasan] of his has been lost, he will be safe from poverty and will vie in pride with people.
(Whoever sees) that he is wearing a new Yemeni striped cloak, or its edges are torn, he will learn something of the Quran and forget it. If a woman sees a cloak, her husband does not treat her well. The cloak is a man's trust, because it lies over the nape of the neck, and the neck is the seat of trust.
