In a dream it is ampleness, might and elevation, especially if he owns it and sits on it in winter. The carpet and all kinds of spreads are furnishings and the master of the house; it is also said slave-girls. Whoever sees that he is on a carpet, or on what is described as a carpet, will buy land; and if he is in a war, he will come out of it safely. If he sees as if he looked at a spread carpet bearing the image of a man who is speaking: if he recognizes the man whose image he saw, that man is false, and the dreamer will see or hear from him words that amaze him. The carpet is the worldly fortune of the one for whom it is spread, his land on which his works are built, his authority, and where his command is carried out. If he sees the carpet rolled up, his worldly fortune has been rolled up away from him, or it will be spread out for him in the future. If the carpet is new, wide, thick, finely made and of good workmanship, he will attain long life, an ample world and a new reign, with length of life, the continuance of blessing and strength of command. If he sees an unknown carpet spread for him in an unknown place among unknown people, he will attain worldly fortune in a foreign land, far from his country and his family. If it is spread among people or in a village, it is a blessing shared among the people of that place. If the carpet is thin or worn out, it is worldly fortune with a short life.
Whoever sees his carpet rolled up on his shoulder will move from his place to an unknown place, will leave his property, his worldly fortune will be rolled up, and its liabilities will hang around his neck. If he sees in the place he moved to one of the dead, that confirms it. If he sees a rolled-up carpet that he did not roll up and had not seen spread out before, and he owns it, it is worldly fortune rolled up away from him; he has little of it and will suffer some straitness in his livelihood; and if it is spread out for him, his provision will become ample and he will be relieved. The carpet indicates sitting with judges and leaders. Anyone whose carpet is trodden upon, his authority will be suspended, his journey will become difficult, his chest will become tight, or his worldly fortune will be held back from him. If his carpet is snatched from him or burned in a fire, he will die or his journey will become difficult. If the body of the carpet becomes thin, his death is near, or emaciation will strike his body, or he will come close to death. An old, torn carpet is worry and grief. The carpet is a man who praises himself, extols himself and raises himself up, yet only increases in lies and falsehood.
