In a dream it is a father, a brother or a paternal uncle. Whoever ties a belt around his waist is at the halfway point of his life. Many belts are long life for whoever wears them. The belt is a son, or a great and mighty chief whose backing one relies on.
(Whoever sees) that a king gave him a belt, the king will gain dominion and the dreamer will attain a dominion like it.
(Whoever sees) a belt on himself without ornament will rely on a noble, strong, mighty man from whom he obtains good or a blessing, by which his back is strengthened, his poverty relieved and he becomes wealthy. If he is rich, it is his strength and his protection, his clothing in his trade and his authority, and the gaining of lawful wealth, and his inner self will be better than his outward appearance. Whoever ties a belt around his waist: if he is poor he will become rich, or if a ruler, he will grow strong. If the belt is ornamented with gold, the ornaments, for a governor, are his commanders and those with whom he adorns himself and through whom his orders are carried out in whatever good or evil he does in his governorship, except that there is injustice and hypocrisy in it. If the ornament is of iron, his commanders are people of strength and might; if of brass, they enjoy the goods of this world; if of lead, they are feeble and weak; if of silver: if it relates to a master, he will be a chief with standing and wealth; if it relates to a son, it will be a son through whom he gains lordship, with some ignorance in him. If he is given a belt and takes it in his right hand without wearing it, he will make a journey in the service of authority. If there is a belt in his left hand and a whip in his right, it is a governorship. If there is a belt in his right hand and something red in his left, it is a governorship with strength and amusement. If he binds his back with it and it breaks, he will be dismissed if he is a ruler, or part from his chief if it relates to the chief; if it relates to his lifespan, he will die. If his belt was broken and then became whole: if he hopes for a child, he will have one; if he has a fear or an ailment, he will be spared it; if he is a ruler, his authority will grow strong. If there is a snake around his waist in place of the belt, he will tie a money-belt around his waist containing dirhams and dinars. If there is a thread around his waist, he has lost half his life. The belt may indicate riding the animals of the postal service. The belt is employment for the idle, or a woman, or many dependents, especially if things are hanging from it.
