It is the storehouse under the ground. Seeing it in a dream indicates the mother who provides and nurtures, because the child's being held hidden in his mother's womb is like food in the storage pit, from which its owner feeds bit by bit until he can do without it with something else. Whoever sees a storage pit collapse or be filled in: if his mother is ill, she will die; or if he has a pregnant woman, she will be safely delivered and her grave will be filled in, because the grave of a pregnant woman is open; unless something in the dream confirms her death, in which case that is her burial. If none of that applies: if he has grain in it in waking life, he will sell it, and the earth and refuse with which it was filled in are its price. If he sees his grain itself turned to dung or earth, its price will become cheap and his money will be lost in it. If he sees it full of grain, his wife or his slave woman will conceive, if he is poor. If the storage pit is an unknown one, in a congregational mosque or a hospice, or with a crowd of people around it, or there is grain in it and it is diminished, the price will fall in proportion to the decrease of the pit. If it overflows and spills, and people ladle from it without diminishing it, prices will be cheap and food plentiful. If he sees fire fall into the grain, there will be great dearness in the grain that is in it, or some event from the ruler, or locusts.
(Whoever sees) its contents as dates or sugar, prices will be sweet, and the kind of grain in it will rise in price in proportion to that sweetness.
