Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Slaughter (slaughtering) ذبح

In a dream it is undutifulness [to parents] and injustice.

Whoever sees that he has been slaughtered, let him seek refuge in God.

Whoever sees a group of people slaughtered, that is a good sign that the dreamer's affairs which he desires will be completed.

Whoever sees in his dream that he slaughtered another, or that another slaughters him, that is also a sign of the completion of affairs, only faster.

Whoever sees someone being slaughtered by a slaughterer, the one slaughtered will obtain good from the slaughterer: if he is imprisoned he will be released, if he is afraid he will gain safety, if he is a slave he will be freed, if a captive he will be ransomed, and if a governor his authority will increase.

Whoever sees that he is slaughtering a human being — and likewise anything that is not lawful to slaughter — the doer is wronging the one done to. Whoever slaughters one of his close unmarriageable relatives neglects his rights and cuts him off. If a slave is slaughtered in a dream, he will be freed. Whoever is worried and sees that he has been slaughtered, his worry will be relieved.

Whoever sees a slaughtered person and does not know who slaughtered him, it is a man who has introduced a reprehensible innovation, or has been entrusted with false testimony, a judgeship or a court verdict. As for one who slaughters his father or mother, he is undutiful to them and transgresses against them. If he sees that he has slaughtered a little child and roasted him and the roast did not cook through, the injustice in that is toward the child's father and mother. If the child himself is the object of the wrong, he will be wronged in his rights and ugly things will be said about him, just as the fire reached his flesh but did not cook it; had what was said about him been true, the roast would have cooked through. If the child is not one to whom such things could be attributed and for which he could be wronged, then it refers to his parents: they will be wronged, falsely accused, and people will talk much about them — and all of it is false so long as the fire did not cook the roast. If he sees the child slaughtered, that is the child reaching the age of manhood; and if he eats of his flesh, they will receive some of his good and favor. If he sees that a ruler slaughtered a man and placed him on the dreamer's neck, the ruler will wrong someone and demand from him what he cannot afford, and the one carrying [the body] will be pressed with that same demand; the weight of the money will be in proportion to the weight of the slaughtered man. If he knows him, it is that very person; if he does not know him and he was an old man, he will be held responsible for a friend and made to pay a fine in proportion to his heaviness or lightness; if he was a young man, he will be held responsible for an enemy and fined. If the slaughtered man still has his head with him, he will be held responsible for him but will not pay the fine; the fine will fall on the man himself, yet the dreamer will suffer a burden and worry from him.

Whoever sees a slaughtered man or a group of slaughtered people, they are misguided people who follow their whims and innovations.

Whoever sees that he slaughters himself, his wife becomes unlawful to him [i.e. divorce]. If the blood of the slaughter flows, it is injustice, estrangement and undutifulness; if no blood flows, it is keeping ties of kinship and honor. If a woman sees that the ruler slaughtered her, she will marry a man.
