Nilometer (water gauge) مقياس الماء

Seeing it in a dream indicates the coming of rain, mercy from God Most High and prosperity after hardship. If he sees that the water has reached its mark, and its building is well kept, or that perfume [khaluq] is upon it, it indicates good news, joys and fertility. If he sees it in ruins, or with blackness on it, or with a bad smell, it indicates drought and hardships. It may indicate the king of that region or its governor, and whatever good or evil is seen in it reflects on what we have mentioned. The water gauge may indicate the new moons of the months of pilgrimage and of the festivals; it may indicate joy and happiness; and it indicates the king's residence at which he stays and from which he departs.
