Dream meaning · al-Nabulsi

Fire-striker (flint and steel) زند

Striking fire in a dream is searching into a matter until one profits from it and it turns out well for him. Whoever sees that he struck fire to warm himself by it will seek the help of a hard-hearted man who has authority and a strong, formidable man against his poverty, and will benefit from him. When the two come together, they establish the governorships of sultans and signify them, because the stone is a hard man, the iron is a formidable man, and the fire is a sultan. If a woman sees that she struck fire and it caught and lit up when she blew on it, she will give birth to a son.

Whoever sees that he struck one stone against another and fire came out of them, two hard men will fight each other fiercely while people watch them fight, because sparks are fighting with swords, and words. It is also said that striking the fire-striker signifies marriage for the unmarried; if the fire catches, the wife will conceive and the child will come forth from between the two spouses. It may also indicate evil between the two of them, or between two adversaries, or between two partners. If the fire burns a garment or a body, that is harm that will occur in that house, in wealth, honor, or body. If it burns a copy of the Quran or a notebook, that is a slur upon religion [Arabic wordplay: "qadh" means both striking fire and defaming].
