In a dream it is a foolish, filthy person, if it is seen at night; if it is seen by day, it is an illness.
(Whoever sees) that he took hold of an Egyptian vulture will fall into a war in which there is much bloodshed, and he may fall gravely ill. It is also said that whoever sees it in his house, it is a helper that is sent to him.
(Whoever sees) many vultures entering a town, an army of base, unlawful-dealing people will descend upon its inhabitants. If a sick person sees a vulture in his house, he will die, or his illness will bring him to the brink. The vulture is a sign of good and benefit for tanners, potters, and those whose trades are carried on outside the town; but for physicians and the sick it is a sign of evil. Vultures also signify enemies, and the arrival of base, lowly people who do not settle in the city; and they signify idle people, and people who wash the dead or who take refuge in graveyards.
