In a dream they indicate a woman or a slave-girl.

Whoever sees that he is eating duck meat will be granted wealth by way of slave-girls and will be granted a wealthy wife, because the duck's home is the water and it never tires of it. It is also said that ducks are men of importance, people of piety, devotion and chastity. Whoever is spoken to by ducks will obtain honor and elevation by way of a woman. Ducks are the ruler's pages. They may indicate a pleasant life, because of the meat that is eaten from them and their delicacy, or a livelihood from water, as for sailors, water-carriers and fishermen. Whoever hears in his dream the voices of ducks in a house, town or quarter, it is the sound of a calamity in that place, or news of a death.
