In a dream it is a foolish man who dares to commit sins; if it barks, he is a foolish man of vile character.

(Whoever sees) that a dog bit or scratched him will suffer harm from his enemy in proportion to the pain, and he may fall ill.

(Whoever sees) a dog tearing his clothes, a fool will backbite him. If he does not hear it bark, it is an enemy who will give up his enmity for something trivial. The female dog is a lowly woman from a bad, obstinate people. A puppy is a beloved child: if it is white, he is a believer; if it is black (aswad), he will become the master (yasud) of his household. The saluki is a man who supports and helps against enemies but is base and without chivalry. Whoever sees a Chinese dog will mix with a group of non-Arabs who are not Muslims.

(Whoever sees) that he took a dog will befriend a man among the servants and love him intensely. Whoever sees that a dog bit him will suffer a calamity, harm and hardship from a friend or a servant. If he sees that he hunts with dogs, he will obtain his wish and fulfill his desire. If he sees that he is killing dogs, he will defeat his enemy. When a person sees hunting dogs going out to hunt, it is good for all people and indicates a deed a person will do and activity; if he sees them returning from the hunt, they indicate the departure of fright, and unemployment; if he sees them entering the city, they indicate unemployment. Dogs kept for play and dogfighting indicate a life of relief and pleasure; and if something bad befalls them in the dream, it indicates grief and the loss of life's pleasure. The female water dog indicates a deed that will not be completed and false hope.

(Whoever sees) that he turned into a dog, God Almighty has taught him great knowledge but he became arrogant with that knowledge, so God took it away from him. Dogs are interpreted as the police constables. The dog is a weak enemy, and the dog is a stingy man.

(Whoever sees) that a dog is barking at him will hear words he dislikes from a person lacking in chivalry.
